Frequently Asked Questions

Realm Questions

What realm is The Regime on?

We will be focusing on Hibernia at the start, but will also be creating a guild and characters within Midgard.

At the outset, we will be exploring and leveling in Hibernia. However, we will immediately be creating alts and a guild within Midgard (on day 1) for people to join, and it probably won't be long before we are hosting leveling groups/events within Midgard.

Also, we welcome and highly encourage ANYBODY to host leveling events of their own within the guild. So if you'd prefer Midgard, you are more than welcome to create an event and find people who would also be interested in joining you.

Why Hibernia first?

The Regime was originally a Midgard guild (The Midgard Regime)
So although many of us have strong nostalgia for Midgard, we decided it would be fun to try another realm.

A small few of us also played on Phoenix Freeshard a few years back. During that time we played Albion, so we have kind of "been there, done that" with Albion.

This is why our main focus will be Hibernia and Midgard. Hibernia is content many of us have never experienced before, so it is getting priority. But Midgard holds a special bit of nostalgia for many of us, so we will definitely still be creating characters on Midgard.

Will you play on Albion at all during Season 3?

We might.

It depends on how much time we all have, how fast we grind through Hib/Mid content, and how much demand exists for creating an Albion branch of the guild.

It certainly isn't out of the question, but it isn't a focus for right now.

Guild Questions

What is the focus of the Regime?

We want to create the most authentic OG leveling experience that we can.
Our goal is to experience the nostalgia of the old world and not just power level or BG level grind to 50 as fast as we possibly can. We want to experience the game as close to the original experience that we had 24 years ago as possible.

This means we will be leveling in both the open world as well as all the original dungeons.

We have a goal to visit all of the original zones and dungeons in the game.

We will be focusing on Hibernia first, but many of us will also be creating alternate characters in Midgard (where we will also create a guild). If the demand exists, we may also eventually do this on Albion.

Guild Focus:
  • Nostalgic Leveling Experience
  • Open world leveling in classic areas and points of interest
  • Go through ALL classic, SI, ToA dungeons
  • Complete as many ToA Trials and exclusive Eden content as possible
  • Allow members to host guild events/leveling groups - so they can find other interested players
  • Host 8v8 Guild vs Guild PvP fights
All Dungeons? Including SI and ToA?

Yes.  We want a leveling experience like we had back during the original game's release.

This means we will be starting with the lower level dungeons, and hosting nightly (or bi-nightly) dungeon runs in these areas.

As we level, we will continue on with dungeons appropriate to our level, eventually crossing all of the original game's dungeons off the list.

Once we do, we will absolutely be exploring the Shrouded Isles dungeons, and then even the Trials of Atlantis dungeons.

What about open world areas?

Yes, we will also be exploring and leveling in the open world!

Coming from Midgard, we absolutely want to see as much of Hibernia as we can. However, we are not familiar with Hib, so if anybody has any pointers/suggestions about nostalgic leveling areas, cool points of interest, or classic exp camps, please join us and let us know!

What about Trials of Atlantis content?

Yes. Once we get to 50 we also want to experience as much of ToA as we can.

Of course we want to do as many of the ToA dungeons as we can (some of them require a raid and we will try to organize that and see if we get enough interest), but we also want to do as many of the Trials as possible. This is one area where many of us didn't get to experience everything ToA has to offer back during the original game, so we are very excited to see as much of it as we can!

Event Questions

How often will there be guild events?

We are aiming to have at least -something- going each night.

That might be a few of us out in the open world, leveling. Or we might be doing one of the dungeons. Or perhaps even having some fun in a Battleground.

But there will be something happening (nearly) every day. We also encourage all members to post events of their own!

Where can I find out about Active/Future Events?

On the Calendar, inside the  Guild Forums

All events will be posted inside the calendar. This will be the one-stop location to view all ongoing and upcoming events.

Here you will find event details such as the date, time, in-game location, character level range, group leader's name, and any other details about the event.

Can I run an Event of my own?

ABSOLUTELY!

We HIGHLY ENCOURAGE all guild members to post their own events. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or planned out.

Perhaps you are getting a group together to go into a dungeon or level at a camp in the open world, just POST IT AS AN EVENT on the Calendar in the Forums.

We want the calendar to be a live source of all ongoing in-game activity. We want people to be able to check the calendar, even while offline or on their phones, and see if anything is going on in-game that they might like to join!

Please see the posts in the Forums for the specific details about how to create an event on the calendar. (it's easy)

RvR Questions

Will The Regime do RvR? Or just PvE?

We are NOT against RvR and we will be doing plenty of RvR.

Obviously RvR is DAOC's main draw for much of the remaining player base. We love RvR and also the BGs. We just aren't EXCLUSIVELY focused on RvR. We want to have a fun and nostalgic leveling experience and see all the old (and now-days unseen) content, rather than rush to level 50.

How does it work when The Regime has both a Hibernia guild and a Midgard guild?

They are enemies!

There will be absolutely ZERO cross realm cooperation allowed within the guild. Both guilds will be natural enemies of each other and will fight each other to the bitter end.

We are grateful that Eden server allows cross-realming characters at all. We will be adhering to ALL rules of the Eden server, including character lockout timers.

Anybody caught 'spying' or sharing information (such as group/zerg locations, battle plans, or Alliance chat info) from one realm to the other will be removed from the guild.

Guild vs Guild, small man, or 8v8 fights?!?

We would LOVE to have fights between evenly matched groups.

We can only hope that we have enough interest in the guild to be able to field a full group in each realm. We would love to organize guild vs guild fights and have evenly matched 8v8 fights. We are very much looking forward to this as part of our end-game content.

However, we will always be adhering to the Eden rules. These fights will not impact the RvR landscape. We will simply organize an out-of-the-way location where both groups can meet and fight each other somewhere out in the Frontier.
